The radar gun is lying to your hitter
Ever watched your hitter get completely beat by a pitcher who, honestly, wasn't throwing that hard? Radar says average — but he's late on everything?
It's not in his head. A 55 mph fastball up and in plays like 58. Down and away, it plays like 51. Same pitch, same gun reading — a 7 mph difference, just from where it's located. Good pitching coaches know this. Most hitters have no idea it's happening to them.

Quick poll in the comments — where does your hitter struggle most? Up and in, down and away, or middle-middle (yep, that happens too)?
